Scoil na bhForbacha, an 8-classroom primary school, on the shoreline of Galway Bay demanded robust detailing and thoughtful design. The muted tones and aluminum roof of the building reflect the colours of sea and sky.

Offices, resource rooms and teaching spaces face South to Galway Bay. They benefit from sunlight, the sound of the waves and links to nature. Non-teaching spaces, such as the staff room, library and GP Hall on the North elevation face the main road. Playful use of colour and lots of natural light give the school warmth, a sense of joy and allows for creativity.
